A colorful feast for the eyes at least. Most of the fruit on these untended volunteer apple trees is not good to eat, but they sure are pretty to look at, especially with the sky in the background. Sometimes they stay on the trees long after the leaves have left and the trees are decorated with apples in the snow.8x10 oil on canvas \
I painted this from a photo I took of the clean and empty Water Sreet the day after the fourth of July. The contrast between the two days is quite remarkable. The street is a zoo on the 4th. All of the colors were soft and pastel looking. The buildings and windows reduced to small strokes and blocks of color, when looked at from this angle. 8x10 oil on canvas
Yesterday, I took lots of pictures of Lindy's beautiful chickens. I'm glad I got some good ones of her gorgeous roosters who will soon be harvested. They all look so healthy and happy. Little do they know... 11x14 oil on canvas
Still lifes are great because you can see all the subtleties in lighting that aren't there in most photos and you can control the light. This one makes me happy, and I love these hydrangeas! 11x14 oil on canvas
I live in Eastport, Maine with my husband and four children. We have a wonderful life here and I am constantly inspired to paint the beauty that surrounds me.
